Brakspear profits better than pre-pandemic levels. For the year ending 25 December 2022, pub operator Brakspear saw profits and EBITDA ahead of pre-Covid levels. Underlying profit before tax recovered to £6.5m, compared to £5.8m in 2019.
Haven investing £18m to create flagship site. Haven is investing £18m to transform a Kent holiday park into its flagship site with a new name and concepts. It forms part of the holiday park operator’s £170m development plan across its parks in 2023, with £230m already invested over the last two years.
Travelodge EBITDA benefits from short breaks and events. Travelodge has seen a rise in EBITDA of 48% to £104.5m after more people have been taking short breaks, and events such as Eurovision and the Grand National have boosted bookings. Full-year profit is expected to be above last year for the hotel business.
Coffee#1 experiences strong Q4 performance. Caffe Nero-owned Coffee#1 has seen robust trading for the last three months of its financial year. Like-for-like sales were up 117% on 2019 levels. The coffee brand has also seen its rate of new openings return to pre-pandemic levels.
The Chesterford Group sees revenue rise in H1. Inaugural Pret A Manger franchisee in the UK, The Chesterford Group, which operates other brands such as Churchill’s and Bankers Fish & Chips, has seen H1 revenue rise by 30% to £15.2m.
Itsu reports increase in sales and partners with Scoffs Group. Itsu has reported a 59% increase full-year sales to £138m in the year to the end of 2022. Group EBITDA was up 42% at £6.5m. The healthy Asian food chain is set to partner with franchise business Scoffs Group as it plans to open 20 sites next year.
