£35m Hepworth Wakefield Art Gallery Opens

One of the largest purpose-built art attractions to open in the UK for around 50 years has welcomed its first visitors. The £35m leisure space is run by an independent trust and aims to commemorate the work of local-born sculptor Barbara Hepworth. The 53,819 sq ft space will feature 10 galleries and learning studios, an archive, an auditorium, a shop, a café and a bar with an outdoor terrace.
