Android Gains Share Of Tablet Market

Shipments of tablet computers almost quadrupled in the third quarter of 2011 compared to the same period last year, reaching 16.7m worldwide. Apple, however, has seen its market share decrease, falling from 95.5% in quarter three last year to 66.6% for the same period in 2011. Android has increased its share significantly, up from 2.3% in 2010 to 26.9% in the past three months.
