Asahi acquires Diageo’s Kenya business in $2.3bn deal 

The Japanese brewer will buy Diageo’s 65% stake in East African Breweries and 53.7% of UDVK. The acquisition, Asahi’s first in Africa, aims to tap long-term growth in Kenya and the region, with Diageo retaining brands under licence.
