Asda May Abandon Bid For Iceland Chain

Reports have suggested that the Wal-Mart-owned supermarket may have abandoned plans to bid for the entire Iceland chain, instead opting to partner with a private equity firm to select individual stores. Previously, Asda is thought to have been holding talks with Farmfoods over a joint bid to avoid competition hurdles.
