Greene King Posts Rise In First-Half Profits

The Suffolk-based brewer and pub operator has posted a 5.6% rise in pre-tax profits for the first-half, reaching £77.2m. Rooney Anand, Greene King’s chief executive, warned of a tough economic climate, but said: “Despite this, there are still significant opportunities for growth, and we believe our strategy to grow our retail estate and our share of the eating out market will help us to maintain our track record of strong earnings and dividends.”
