John Lewis posts increased sales after Christmas period

High street retailer John Lewis has posted a like-for-like sales increase of 5.1% in the six weeks surrounding the Christmas holidays, with gross sales up by 6.9%. The strongest growth came from the home technology department and electrical department, followed by fashion and home goods.
