Korean Air to absorb Asiana Airlines by year-end following merger approval

The airlines’ boards have approved their merger agreement, with Korean Air absorbing all of Asiana’s assets and personnel. The integration creates a unified carrier by year-end, concluding a six-year process to strengthen South Korea’s aviation sector.
