In a groundbreaking scheme, the high street chain is to give up to 1,000 young people the chance to work in retail with a new apprenticeship scheme. Next, which is run by chief executive Lord Wolfson, will initially take on 500 apprentices but may double this figure if there are sufficient numbers of suitable candidates.
