Premier Foods acquires Merchant Gourmet

The owner of brands including Ambrosia, Bisto and Mr Kipling has acquired ready-to-eat pulses and grains business Merchant Gourmet for an enterprise value of £48m. The business is forecast to hit revenues of around £28m in the year to next March.
