Starbucks Lets Customers ‘Pay By App’

The coffee chain is to allow iPhone users to pay for items with their phones through a new app. By scanning a unique barcode on their iPhones at the till, customers will pay for items through their Starbucks account. The new facility is only available to holders of a Starbucks loyalty card, as the service will synchronise account and balance information. An android app will follow soon.
