Starbucks sells majority of China unit to Boyu in $4bn joint venture

Starbucks will retain 40% and license its brand and IP, while Hong Kong-based Boyu will take up to 60% across 8,000 China stores. Starbucks values the China retail business at over $13bn and plans to expand to as many as 20,000 stores in the market.
