Tate & Lyle buys specialty ingredients business in £1.4bn deal

The FTSE 250 company has inked a deal to acquire US-based CP Kelco, which makes pectin, speciality gums and other nature-based ingredients. US family firm Huber – the current owner of CP Kelco – will own a 16% shareholding in Tate & Lyle after the deal.
