Uber reports increase in active riders in the third quarter despite missing profit expectations

The ride-sharing app saw active riders top 150m and revenue rise 20% to $13.5bn with despite weaker third-quarter profit due to a one-off legal charge. Q4 gross bookings are guided at $52.25bn-$53.75bn, slightly above prior estimates.
