US Energy Tax Credits Help Whirlpool Profits Rise

The world’s largest appliance maker has reported a rise in net income to US$169m in its first fiscal-quarter, helped in part by US tax credits for making energy efficient appliances. The company said in February that it expected to receive US$300m in energy tax credits through 2011.
