Wal-Mart And Carrefour May Need US$100m To Enter India

A state panel has warned the global retailers that they may need to invest US$100m in order to expand into India. India currently bars foreign ownership in multibrand retail operations. Both Wal-Mart and Carrefour already operate wholesale outlets in India but are seeking to expand into retail.
