Walmart delivers quarterly update

Sales at the world’s largest supermarket chain rose 8.4% to $152.9bn in the second quarter to 31 July, above analysts’ estimates of $151.1bn. The result was driven by lower fuel prices and wealthier customers seeking bargains.
