Yahoo Plans A Push On Mobile Phones

The US search engine has unveiled a new partnership with MediaTek, one of the leading suppliers of microchips for mobile phones, in a bid to give traditional mobile phones capabilities similar to those of smartphones. MediaTek is to integrate Yahoo’s web offerings, such as instant messaging, e-mail and a photo service, into its chip packages.
