A circular fashion economy is about more than clothes



With a market value of £50bn a year, the clothing and footwear industries are contributing to the one-third of a million tonnes of clothing waste that end up in landfill, just in the UK. By embracing the circular economy and increasing their use of recycled and sustainable materials, some brands are trying to reduce clothing waste as an alternative to perpetuating fast fashion. This article examines how investing in the design processes and improving technical knowledge within the supply chains could genuinely help actualising alternative business models.
