Ron Arad’s twisting blade sculpture at King’s Cross station

On the 7th July, the artist unveiled his latest piece of art titled Thought of Train of Thought, an 18-metre twist of aluminium that rotates slowly above the arrivals from the Eurostar, reflecting them from above. Commissioned by the Royal Academy of Arts, it is part of the station’s Terrace Wires art programme and follows artist Cornelia Parker’s clock sculpture from last year.  Ron Arad is an Israeli industrial designer, artist and architect, who has installed pieces all over the world, including the building of The Design Museum, Holon, Israel and a roboticised sculpture in the Royal Academy courtyard, Spyre, that is, as well, currently on show.
