PureGym appoints Alex Wood as CEO following Clive Chesser’s departure after two years in the role. Alex, previously CFO, becomes CEO of PureGym, the UK’s largest fitness operator. Q1 2026 adjusted EBITDA rose to £56m from £45m, with revenue up to £194m. PureGym plans to open over 60 new sites in 2026.
AO World reports record profits, announces £20m return to shareholders after strong TV sales. Online retailer AO World saw adjusted pre-tax profit rise 16.1% to £50.5m, with revenue up 11.4% to £1.3bn. Growth was driven by TV sales ahead of the World Cup and recent acquisitions in the used electronics sector.
Reckitt appoints Deborah Waterhouse and Gavin Patterson as Non-Executive Directors, effective July 2026. Deborah Waterhouse, CEO of ViiV Healthcare and President, Global Health at GSK, and Gavin Patterson, former CEO of BT and ex-President at Salesforce, will join Reckitt’s board. Deborah joins the Audit Committee; Gavin joins Remuneration.
