Hewlett-Packard Co named former eBay Inc Chief Executive Meg Whitman its president and CEO, replacing the harshly criticised Leo Apotheker in a bid to restore investor confidence in the iconic Silicon Valley company. With rumours circulating yesterday, the move was pushed through this morning. Whitman will now take charge of the $120b empire, which has over 300,000 employees, with the aim of turning round some of the companies recent problems.
