Britain's biggest department store chain, which has reported an increase in weekly sales, is to open at least 10 new 'flexible format' department stores. The new format will be smaller than the chain's standard stores, with fashion playing a more prominent role. The first new John Lewis store is due to open in Exeter in autumn 2012.
