Sheikh Hamad Bin Jassim Bin Jaber Al Thani, a former prime minister of Qatar, has invested €1bn to acquire the stake in the Spanish department store chain. It marks the first foreign investment in the privately owned business and is being seen as a sign of confidence in the Spanish recovery.
